Tuan's idea of attachment to homeland

In Tuan's article in the reading list he discusses the attachment that a person has to their homeland. my questioin is how immigrants deal with this factor. Do they create a completely new attachment in their new home, or do they still consider their old homeland the center of their world. I think that they would relate more to their home country, unitl they are settled in their new homes and have made connections. Once this occurs, I think that immigrants' connections to their homeland will decrease and feelings of home will begin to involve their new country, city or community. I think that many fcators affect how or if a person changes their sense of home. I think the factors include, presence of people and a community from their old country, and their economic status in Canada which will define how comfortable they are.

I disagree, in reading Tuan I think there is more of a connection to Homeland bn\y immigrants. They may adopt new ways of life, but overall where one is born is significant to part of their identity. And according to Tuan we identify to our homeland as a connection of familarity, culture and belonging.
