Global Warming

An article posted by Yahoo! entitled 'Court rules against Bush in global warming case' tells about the Supreme Court's ruling on greenhouse gases. In a 5-4 vote, the Court ruled that the refusal to regulate carbon dioxide and other emissions from new cars should be overturned. The undesired global effects of the greenhouse gases emitted by not only cars, but factories as well, must be limited by the law and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA has not regulated the gases in the past due to some uncertainties surrounding the direct link between greenhouse gases and climate change.

This comes to affect the space and place for practically the entire globe. The US, who is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world, in essence has contributed the most to the climate change of the globe. Forcing the country to cut back and regulate emissions will hopefully reduce the severity and speed of the current climate change that we are experiencing now and in the future. Places (ie towns, cities, countries) have been experiencing warmer climates for many years now and have been altered because of it. Physical changes such as glacial melting and increased temperatures have altered places. Which, in turn, has also altered the population of certain areas, tourism and food availability (to name a few other outcomes). Personally, I think this is an outstanding verdict that has been long overdue. This is an issue that truly does involve the entire world and cannot be overlooked.
