Rural space has a strong sense of community everyone knows everyone else compared to urban space which is more individualist and anonymous. From a social constructions approach I would argue that the rural is culturally constructed by people. Rural space is often viewed as a natural, pure environment, peaceful compared to the noise of the city. For city inhabitants rural is seen as a place of refuge and relaxation. For rural people it is a site of production where activities such as farming and agriculture are dominant. I would say that rural space is hassle-free; people have time for living, talking and enjoying life and the beauty of nature. Also rural space is more like a family environment and a good place to bring up children. It is less competitive, and materialistic.
